The National Seminar on “Sethusamudram Project and its possible impacts on Kerala coast” organized by CISSA an University of Kerala was held at the Seminar Hall, Department of Botany, University of Kerala, Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram. The seminar was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Kerala University, Dr. M.K. Ramachandran Nair. He stressed the need for detailed Environment Impact Studies and consultations with all the stake holders before implementing large developmental projected and requested the scientist community to play a proactive role in this regard. The inaugural session was chaired by Dr. C.S.P. Iyer, former Director, C-MARS, Regional Research Laboratory, Thiruvananthapuram. Prof. G.M.
