CISSA is a nonprofit, non governmental
organization of scientists and citizens combining rigorous
scientific analysis, innovative policy development and effective
citizen advocacy to build a cleaner, safer and healthier world.
We recognize the value of Indian traditional wisdom and
spirituality in solving the problems of the modern world.
Our programmes are the means in translating
vision into action. Through them, we connect the best scientific
insights with the knowledge and support of society to secure
changes in government policy, corporate practices and consumer
choices that will protect and improve the health of our
environment.
Our member scientists and engineers
collaborate with colleagues across the country to conduct
technical studies on science and technology issues with
cross-disciplinary and trans- cultural approach and provide a
balance of all factors. We share the results of our studies with
policymakers, the news media, and the public.
Knowing the enormity of the challenge, we
actively work in coalition with other groups that share our
goals.
